Union Settlement Federal Credit Union
Membership Policy
Individuals who live, work, worship, volunteer, attend school or participate in an organization and is located within our Field of Membership boundaries or are members of the Canaan Baptist Church in Christ are eligible for membership at Union Settlement Federal Credit Union.

Our Field of membership is from 90th street to 125th street, from the
East River Drive to the East Side of Fifth Avenue.

Other Related Organizations
  • East Harlem Businesses can recommend their employees.
  • East Harlem Churches can recommend their members.
  • East Harlem Community based Organizations can recommend
    their staff, volunteers, and participants.

The Sponsor Organization

Employees of Union Settlement Association Program participants/volunteers.

Non-Member Depositors are not required to live, work, or volunteer within our
Field of Membership, but they must be recommended by their employer who
is a member of one of our Payroll Deduction Organizations or a Non-Member Organization that has a deposit at the Credit Union.

1. You must bring the following documents with you to     become a member:
  • A government issued photo identification card from most countries.
  • Social security or Individual Tax Identification number (ITIN) - In order to open an interest-bearing account. We can inform you about the process of applying for the ITIN number at the credit union offices.
  • Members can open a non-interest bearing savings account without the tax identification number.
  • Proof of Address (Lease or current utility bill)
2. $5.00 Membership Fee. This is a one-time fee.

3. A minimum deposit of $10.00. You may deposit more and     are encouraged to deposit on a regular basis.

These policies/requirements are subject to change by the Board of Directors.
